Art Fleming Trail
50ºF Wind NNE mild, Clear

Small Flying insects are starting to appear. One was lighting on the stream at the 1st bridge. Grass is starting to green up.

Saw some Scat on the trail.

Saw 2-Mourning Cloak Butterflies Nymphalis antiopa.

I saw brown bubbly scum on the surface of the stream at the 4th Bridge.

I observed 2 Fox Squirrels Sciurus niger in the crown of a tree. At first I thought they were dead but eventually they started to move about. One went down the tree and hopped on another tree via branches. The other stayed in the crown and started to eat the buds.

Later down the trail at the Marsh Bridge I observed a green-brown algae on it's stream.

I also observed some Possum Tracks.

On the short-cut trail I startled an Eastern Gray Squirrel Sciurus carolinensis who scurried into the thickets.

I also observed 2-Carolina Chickadee Poecile carolinensis. There was also 2-Common Grackle Quiscalus quiscula playing in the tree branches.

On exiting the trail a Eastern Gray Squirrel was scolding me from the tree tops.

I observed,
6-Robins in the meadow and
5-robins in the woods
